Libby Searle
Head Coach

I’m Libby, a women’s strength coach based in Christchurch, helping women build strength and confidence in the gym, lose fat sustainably, and create habits that last to break the all-or-nothing cycle for good.

Like many women, I struggled with extreme dieting, inconsistent fitness routines, and the frustrating cycle of losing and regaining weight, feeling like nothing ever sticks.

My Story

I wasn’t a “fit kid” growing up and didn’t discover fitness until I was 19. When I did, I went all in. I became completely hooked on weight loss and took things to the extreme.

I developed disordered eating habits and pushed my body to the brink of exhaustion and repetitive injuries.

For a while, I would do really well…But eventually my body would start screaming at me. I’d burn out, start binge eating, get injured, feel ashamed, avoid the gym… and the cycle would repeat 🔁

Even after becoming a qualified personal trainer, I kept losing and regaining the same 10–30kg over and over again. At the same time, I was navigating undiagnosed ADHD and chronic health conditions, including Endometriosis, Hip Dysplasia, Adenomyosis and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Consistency felt impossible!

Honestly, I thought something was wrong with me. “Why couldn’t I stick to anything?”, “Why was I stuck in this cycle?”

There Had to Be a Better Way

And that’s exactly how Reliberate Fitness was born.

The Shift

Instead of trying to push harder, I started digging deeper. I began learning how my nervous system, training, and nutrition actually worked together. I started regulating my nervous system and built simple, adaptable systems that worked with my neurodivergent brain and my body instead of constantly burning it out.

For the first time, things started to change permanently.

I stopped binge eating and recognised that I was not broken; I was using food as a coping mechanism for stress and trauma. I built muscle, lost fat, and actually kept it off. I became consistent with the gym by learning how to adapt my training around my cycle, injuries, energy levels, and neurodivergent brain.

And most importantly…

I finally stepped out of the start again on Monday cycle.

Why I Created Reliberate Fitness

Reliberate Fitness was created to give women a sustainable, realistic approach to strength training and fat loss. I saw too many women feel left out, frustrated, or burnt out by gym challenges, intense programs, and diets. Programs that didn’t consider their fitness level, neurodivergent brains, busy lifestyles, or overwhelmed nervous systems

Fitness and fat loss shouldn’t be that complicated or rule your life!

  • My educational background means I know how to break fat loss down into simple systems you can actually follow and understand. No crazy meal plan your family can’t eat. No guessing how to do exercises or feeling lost in the gym. Just clear steps that work with your fitness level and your busy life

No strict diets or macro counting. No endless cardio. No starting over again on Monday.

Just smart, sustainable strategies that help you feel strong, confident, and excited for life again
